The screening will include a catered reception sponsored by AZN Television and a panel entitled "Influencing the Image Makers" featuring industry experts who will discuss the challenges of increasing diversity in film and television industry. Speakers include Screen Actors Guild President Allen Rosenberg, Casting Society of America President Chemin Bernard, Casting Director Gary M. Zuckerbrod and Producers Guild Hon. Member George Sunga and Teddy Zee, writer Weiko Lin, and Director Henry Chan. For bios of panelists, click here.

There will also be a special tribute to Mako.

This event is being sponsored by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the Screen Actors Guild, the Directors Guild, the Writers Guild Asian American Committee, the Producers Guild, Casting Society of America, the Center for Asian American Media, Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment, Visual Communications, and the Wallace Alexander Gerbode Foundation.

The Slanted Screen's Bay Area premiere: San Francisco SF International Asian American Film Festival – March 19, 2006, 3:00pm – AMC Kabuki Theater, 1881 Post Street, SF, co-presented by the Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Bay Area and the Vietnamese Youth Development Center.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion, "Is Charlie Chan Dead?" with Professor Darrell Hamamoto, the director, and several actors from The Slanted Screen.

The guests enjoyed live Asian American musical performances, silent auction for rare Asian American film memorabilia, delicious food and cocktails provided by Remy Martin.

The after party was free admission to Slanted Screen ticket holders. $20 general admission for all others. Ticket holders presented ticket stub from screening to be admitted.

Part of the proceeds from the after party event benefited the Vietnamese Youth Development Center's media/video youth program.

The Slanted Screen will screen at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 12, 2006, 6:00pm at the Laemmle Theater, 7907 Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles.
